As a Philadelphia family photographer based in Northeast Philly, one of the questions I’m asked most is: “Where should we take our family photos?” Whether you’re looking for classic city charm, natural backdrops, or a quiet park your kids can run around in—Philly has it all.

Here are some of my favorite family photo locations in and around Philadelphia:

1. Glen Foerd on the Delaware

This gorgeous estate has riverfront views, manicured gardens, and stunning architecture. Perfect for a timeless and elevated look—just check ahead for photo session permissions.

2. Old City + Elfreth’s Alley

The cobblestone streets, charming rowhomes, and pops of color make Old City a great spot for lifestyle family sessions with a Philly vibe.

📸 Pro tip: Morning sessions here are dreamy with soft light and fewer tourists.

3. Benjamin Rush State Park

A peaceful, lesser-known park with open meadows and tree-lined paths. Great for relaxed sessions and little ones who need space to roam.

4. An Ice Cream Shop

Think unique, maybe start at a playground, let's do true documentary then end up at an ice cream shop. Bribery for kids and family photos for mom.

5. Curtis Arboretum – Cheltenham Township

A favorite for family sessions, especially in spring! Stone bridges, tall trees, and a stunning old estate feel without the crowds.

6. North Wildwood Beach

Yes, it's technically Jersey—but so many of my families spend their summers here, it had to make the list! Soft dunes, golden sunsets, and that relaxed beachy vibe make Wildwood a summer favorite for family photo sessions.
